Rice Roti/ Rice bread/ Tandlachi bhakri
“Rice Bhakri” is a type of bread in the Konkani/
Malvani cuisine.
Now-a-days, pick any Konkani-Goan
restaurant’s menu card , you will find Rice Bhakri as one of the most preferred
bread items. The coastal region has wide variety of fish and seafood that is
available in abundance, so Konkani cuisine is all about their celebrated love
for Rice and Fish. Bhakri made from rice is also a part of this rich culinary
heritage.
The most important health benefit is that
it is totally oil free. It doesn’t need oil neither while kneading the dough
nor while cooking.
It seems to be hard to make these bhakris,
But I would say it is very simple yet delicious and a gem of Konkani/Goan
Cuisine.
You can have this bhakri/roti with Pithale,
Jhunka, Gravy of any Bean varieties or Lentil gravy, also Chicken or Fish Curry
would be too awesome
